Customer guide
This guide is for renters — people looking for storage at a facility that uses StoreAll. Your experience depends on the facility's subscription tier and settings, but the basics are the same everywhere.
Your facility's public site: https://storeall.io/owners/{facility-slug}
Log in: https://storeall.io/owners/{facility-slug}/login
Your portal: https://storeall.io/owners/{facility-slug}/portal
Ask your facility for their exact link if you are unsure of the slug.

Finding your facility online
Facilities use StoreAll in different ways:
| How they use StoreAll | Where you browse units |
|---|---|
| Hosted website (Tier 2+) | https://storeall.io/owners/{slug} |
| Embed on their own site (any tier) | A section on the facility's website (iframe or widget) |
The hosted site typically includes:
- Facility name, description, and photos
- Location addresses, hours, maps, and Get directions (Google Maps)
- Available units with pricing (if the owner enables it)
- Waitlist form (on the home page — see Waitlist)
- Log in / Create account links (when the facility enables customer accounts)
Browsing units
Layout: rows vs tiles
The facility owner chooses how units display:
| Layout | What you see |
|---|---|
| Row | A compact vertical list — good when many units are shown |
| Tile | Larger cards in a grid — more visual, easier to scan a smaller set |
Both layouts support the same filters and actions (Inquire, Reserve, Join waitlist). The facility owner picks the layout in their StoreAll dashboard.
On the hosted website
Scroll to Available units or follow the View inventory link from a location card.
Filters may include:
- Location — when the facility has multiple sites (Tier 3)
- Size — e.g. 5×10, 10×10
- Type — Standard, Climate Controlled, Vehicle
- Access — Ground Level, Elevator
Click Clear filters to reset.
Unit cards show
- Size and availability badge (Available, Available Climate, etc.)
- Type, access, and unit label
- Monthly rate and move-in specials (if enabled)
- Action button — Inquire, Reserve, or Join waitlist depending on status and tier
Grouped units
When several identical units are available, the facility may show one card with "4 available" (or similar) instead of four separate listings.
Unit details
Click View details to open a modal with full information and photos.
Useful URL parameters
Staff or marketing links may send you directly to part of the site:
| URL pattern | Effect |
|---|---|
?unit=123 | Opens inventory and highlights that unit |
?loc=5 | Filters inventory to location ID 5 (Tier 3 multi-site) |
?loc=5#inventory | Same, scrolled to inventory |
?wl_size=10x10&wl_type=standard#waitlist | Prefills the waitlist form |
Example: https://storeall.io/owners/metro-storage?unit=42#inventory
Inventory on the facility's own website
Some facilities embed StoreAll inventory on their own website (iframe or JavaScript widget) instead of sending you to their hosted StoreAll page.
How embeds differ from the hosted site
| Action | Tier 1 / 2 embed | Tier 3 embed |
|---|---|---|
| Available unit | Inquire, call, or email (per facility settings) | Reserve opens the facility's hosted StoreAll site in a new browser tab — checkout happens there, not inside the embed |
| Sold out | Join waitlist (inline form or link to hosted site) | Same |
If Reserve opens a new tab, complete payment or the reservation form on that page.
Embeds use the same row or tile layout as the facility's hosted site (chosen in Manage → Inventory or Settings).
QR codes
Some facilities post QR codes on units or gates. Scanning opens their StoreAll public URL (often filtered to a location or unit).
Inquiring about a unit
Tier 1 and Tier 2 facilities typically use Inquire instead of online Reserve.
Inquiry form (default)
- Click Inquire on an available unit.
- Fill in your name, email, phone (optional), and message.
- Submit.
- The facility receives your inquiry and will contact you.
Call or email
Some facilities set contact to phone or email instead of a form. You will see Call to inquire or Email to inquire with their contact details.
After you submit
A confirmation message appears on the site, and you'll get a confirmation email with your inquiry details. The facility team follows up by email or phone.
Reserving a unit
Tier 3 facilities with online reservations enabled show a Reserve button on available units.
Before you reserve
- You may need a customer account if the facility requires it (especially when they do not take payment online).
- Have your move-in date and contact information ready.
With online payment (Stripe)
- Click Reserve.
- Enter first name, email, and optional phone and move-in date.
- Click Proceed to payment — the amount shown is your first month's rent (any active move-in special/promo rate is applied automatically, so the price you see is the price you're charged).
- Enter your card details in the secure payment form.
- Complete payment before the hold timer expires (usually 15 minutes). The unit is temporarily held while you pay.
- If the timer runs out, the Pay button is disabled and you'll see "Your hold expired — please start over." Click Start over to get a fresh hold and try again.
- On success, you see a confirmation and you'll get a confirmation email shortly (it's sent when your payment is confirmed, so it may take a minute or two).
Without online payment
- Click Reserve.
- If the facility requires it, log in or create an account with a verified email first — otherwise you may see a login prompt instead of the form. After you log in or register, you're brought right back to where you started (the unit or inventory list), not just dropped on the portal.
- Fill in the reservation form and submit.
- The unit is being held but is not yet confirmed — the facility team reaches out to finalize it.
- Unconfirmed reservations may be automatically released after a set number of hours (facility setting) if the team does not confirm.
After reserving
- Visit My account (customer portal) to track your reservation.
- Complete any checklist items the facility requires (ID, agreements, etc.).
Cancelling
In your portal, you can cancel pending or confirmed reservations. The unit becomes available for others.
Waitlist
Use the waitlist when you cannot find the size or type you need, or when a unit group is sold out.
Where the waitlist form appears
- On the facility's hosted site, the full waitlist form is on the Home page (
#waitlist). - It does not appear on custom content pages (e.g.
?p=about) — use Home or ask the facility for a direct link. - Embeds and sold-out unit cards may offer Join waitlist inline or link you to the hosted site.
Joining the waitlist
From the waitlist section (#waitlist on the home page):
- Enter your name and email (required).
- Optionally choose preferred location(s), size, and type.
- Add notes (e.g. "Need ground floor only").
- Submit.
From a sold-out unit card:
- Click Join waitlist.
- The form opens with size and type prefilled.
- Complete and submit.
Account required
Some facilities require you to log in before joining the waitlist. You will be prompted to sign in or register.
What happens next
- You'll get a confirmation email right away with your waitlist preferences.
- The facility receives your entry.
- When a matching unit becomes available, you may receive an email (and optionally SMS if you opted in).
- Staff may also contact you directly.
Managing waitlist entries
In your customer portal, view active waitlist entries, update notes, or remove yourself from the waitlist.
Your account
Customer accounts are optional — the facility owner can turn them off. When accounts are disabled, Log in, Register, and My account links are hidden, and visiting a login/register/portal URL directly shows a short page explaining that this facility manages accounts differently, with the facility's contact info if they've provided it — rather than an error page.
Creating an account
- Go to
https://storeall.io/owners/{slug}/register. - Enter name, email, and password (8+ characters).
- Submit — you'll land in your portal with a "We sent a verification link to your email" banner.
- Check your email for a verification link (valid 24 hours).
- Click the link, then sign in.
If you started from Reserve, Join waitlist, or a specific unit, registering (or logging in) takes you right back there instead of dropping you on the portal.
> Already have an account with that email? If the email you enter is already registered, you'll be asked to log in with your existing password instead of creating a duplicate — this protects your account from someone else trying to "register" with your email.
Logging in
Recommended: https://storeall.io/owners/{slug}/login — the login page for this facility.
You can also use the facility's Log in link from their public site header.
> Note: The generic https://storeall.io/login page is primarily for facility staff. If you are a renter, use your facility's login URL above so you land in the right portal.
Forgot password
- Click Forgot password on the login page.
- Enter your email.
- Use the reset link in your email (valid 2 hours).
- Set a new password.
Email verification
If you have not verified your email, a banner appears in your portal with Resend verification.
Some actions (reserving without payment, joining waitlist) may require a verified email when the facility enables those rules.
If you click the verification link on a different device or browser than the one you're logged in on, you're sent to the login page with an "Email verified! Please log in." message instead of being bounced to a portal you're not signed into.
Logging out
Use Log out in the account menu on the public site or portal.
Customer portal
URL: https://storeall.io/owners/{slug}/portal
Requires: Logged-in customer account (when the facility enables customer accounts)
The portal is your personal dashboard for everything at that facility.
My units
Units linked to your account as Reserved or Occupied:
- Unit label, size, location, monthly rate
- Climate and access details
- Location hours and contact
Reserved checklist
When your unit is Reserved, you may see steps to complete before move-in:
- Sign rental agreement
- Provide government-issued photo ID
- Custom steps the facility adds (e.g. pay deposit in office)
Check off items as you complete them with the facility.
Access information
After move-in, gate codes or access notes from the facility may appear here for Occupied units.
My reservations
- Active — pending or confirmed online reservations; you can cancel here
- Past — cancelled or fulfilled reservations
My waitlist
View entries, edit notes, or remove yourself.
My details
Update your name, phone, and email. Changing email triggers a new verification message.
Change password
Update your password from the portal profile section.
Payment history
On Tier 3 facilities with recurring rent set up, view a read-only history of monthly rent charges and payment status. If you don't have any recurring rent payments yet, you'll simply see "No payments yet".
Signed agreements
View agreements you have signed, including date and status. Click a signed agreement to open a read-only copy of the exact text you agreed to — useful if you need to double check the terms later. Re-sign if the facility updates a policy and requires it.
Rental agreements
Facilities on Tier 2 or Tier 3 may require electronic signatures.
Signing flow
- Log in to your portal.
- Click the alert or link for a pending agreement.
- Read the full document (scroll to the bottom to unlock signing).
- Check the consent box and enter your initials.
- Submit.
You are redirected back to the portal. A copy is recorded with a timestamp and audit trail.
Multiple agreements
If several agreements are pending, you are guided through them one at a time.
Payments
First month's rent
On Tier 3 facilities with card payments enabled, you pay first month's rent at reserve time in the modal on the public site — the amount charged always matches the amount shown, including any active move-in special. Charges go to the facility's Stripe account, not StoreAll.
Monthly rent (autopay)
If the facility sets up recurring rent, you receive an email with a secure link to enter your card for monthly autopay. After setup, charges run automatically each period.
Viewing history
Paid and failed rent records appear in Payment history in your portal when available.
Late fees
Late fees are managed by the facility. You will not see a separate late-fee payment screen in the portal today — contact the facility directly about overdue balances.
SMS notifications
On facilities with SMS enabled (Tier 2+), you can opt in to text messages in your portal.
Typical SMS events:
- Reservation confirmations
- Waitlist match alerts
You need a phone number on your profile — the SMS card in your portal tells you clearly whether you're currently opted in or currently opted out, and the Opt in / Opt out button always reflects your current state. If you haven't added a phone number yet, the card links you straight to the phone field in My details. You can opt out anytime in the portal.
Frequently asked questions
I created an account but cannot reserve
The facility may require email verification or login before reserve. Check your inbox for the verification link, or log in and try again.
Why is there no Reserve button on the embed on my WordPress site?
On Tier 3, embedded inventory often opens the facility's full StoreAll site in a new tab when you click Reserve. Complete checkout on that page.
Why is there no Reserve button?
That facility may be on Tier 1 or 2, which use Inquire instead of online reserve. Use Inquire or the waitlist, or call the facility.
I reserved but nobody contacted me
Check spam for emails from the facility. Log in to your portal to see reservation status. Call the facility using the phone on their site.
How do I cancel a reservation?
Log in → Portal → My reservations → Cancel on an active reservation.
Can I use one account at multiple facilities?
You register separately at each facility's URL. The same email can be used, but accounts are per facility.
I joined the waitlist — how long will it take?
Wait times depend on availability. You are notified when a matching unit opens or when staff contacts you. There is no guaranteed timeline.
Is my payment information stored by StoreAll?
Card payments use Stripe. StoreAll does not store your full card number. Recurring rent is managed through Stripe on the facility's connected account.
The website says "not found"
The facility may have unpublished their site or the URL may be wrong. Contact the facility directly.
Log in or Register links are missing
The facility may have customer accounts turned off. Browse units and use Inquire or call the facility — you will not have a self-service portal on that site. If you try to visit a login/register link directly, you'll see a page saying the facility manages accounts differently, with their contact details if available.
I need to update my move-in date
Contact the facility. They can update your reservation or inquiry from their Manage dashboard.
My payment card was declined and the timer ran out — what now?
Click Start over in the reservation modal. This gets you a fresh hold on the unit (if it's still available) so you can try again; the expired hold cannot be reused.
I registered with my email but it says an account already exists
Someone (possibly you, previously) already registered with that email at this facility. Log in with your existing password instead — for your protection, StoreAll never lets a new registration silently take over an existing account.
Quick URL reference
